Description
Thornwick Garden Co. is a fictional boutique nursery brand built around hand-tied cultivar hang tags. We redesigned sage-green textured cardstock tags with metal eyelets, a hand-drawn garden-tool doodle band, and a circular sparrow-and-thorn emblem on the face — plus a reverse side with serif cultivar hierarchy (Heuchera Coral Ember, ornamental foliage, $24.99) — then staged floating petals, a soil scoop, seed packet, eucalyptus, and sage ribbon outside the tags with exterior lines for Rooted in Every Label, Sage Tag System, and Botanical Retail Theatre so the collection tile reads as artisan nursery lifestyle theatre, clearly distinct from the reference Morning Dove concept.

Ideation concept
Sage calm as the nursery signal: textured green tags, twisted twine, and fine-line tool doodles as the craft cue — but invent Thornwick as the brand world with a sparrow-and-thorn emblem (not dove-and-lilac). Outside the dielines, petals, soil scoop, ribbon, and margin callouts lift a simple tag pair into a square enriched print-media poster without cloning third-party garden-center marks or designer watermarks.
Problem statement
Nursery hang tags often clone familiar garden-center dove logos or keep third-party studio watermarks as portfolio clients. The brief needed an original fictional brand, redesigned sage tag system with cultivar reverse storytelling, and a square 1080 enriched lifestyle poster with botanical props and external typography — distinct from packaging-only neighbours.
Solution
We invented Thornwick Garden Co., rebuilt front emblem and reverse cultivar hierarchy around Heuchera Coral Ember, and validated an exactly 1080×1080 enriched lifestyle print poster: floating petals, soil scoop, and margin callouts outside the tags. Custom-design and print-media tags mark the work for collection filters.
